THE GRAPEVINE

Now Zarrar

After the encouraging news that The Legend of Maula Jatt is finally going to be released on October 13, it has now also been announced that Shaan Shahid’s eagerly awaited Zarrar is also finally set to see the light of day, on September 23. Two years after the release of its trailer, the action-packed movie is ready to hit the cinema screens after the necessary post-production work. Given that the trailer carried a lot of promise with some good action moments, we expect it to do well at the box office and, who knows, it may even give Maula Jatt a run for its money.

Collab Vibe

Talha Anjum is a fine Pakistani rapper, songwriter and music producer. And CALM from Delhi ain’t bad either. Here comes a collaborative effort between the two of them and Umair called Nevermind… and tell you what — it’s rhythmic, it’s groovy and you can swing and sway to it like anything. It is one track that will now be played by the youngsters (not to mention some oldies, too) with a great deal of enthusiasm. The slight vocal variations, the rhyming, the beat… gotta vibe with it.

Good Parents

Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan got divorced five years ago. They were a good-looking couple to be sure, but they have also remained a civilised couple, despite the fact that they have moved on, and both have new partners in the limelight — Giorgia Andriani and Arjun Kapoor, respectively. Together, the former husband and wife have a grown-up son Arhaan. Last week, the son flew out to the US for his studies, and the parents came to see him off at the airport in the early hours of the day. They looked comfortable in each other’s company and even smiled for the shutterbugs. Some people construed it as a reunion of sorts. We say they were just being a responsible mum-dad duo. Every gesture doesn’t have to be read between the lines.

Ranbir’s Cancel adventure

The latest showbiz celeb facing the wrath of ‘cancel culture’ is none other than Ranbir Kapoor. While giving an interview alongside his better half Aalia Bhatt about their upcoming film Brahmastra, the actor apparently referred to her baby bump in a manner that suggested fat-shaming. This enraged netizens and they dug up his previous ‘misogynistic’ acts from the past to show that he is… well… a misogynist. As a result, he had to apologise to them. We hope that his films don’t get boycotted. Nope, not a chance. The boycotters have a distinct background. The ‘woke’ lot is different in more ways than one.

Rocky Divorce

Another pair bites the Hollywood dust. Sylvester Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin are reportedly getting divorced after 25 years of marriage. Yes, after a quarter century of togetherness! Jennifer F filed for divorce on August 19. As soon as the news started doing the rounds, tongues began to wag as to what caused the split. One of the reasons that’s come to the fore, believe it or not, is that Sylvester S wanted to get a Rottweiler to protect his family and the wife did not. The argument apparently got out of hand and she decided to leave him. Now that’s what you call a marriage gone to the dogs!

Beniffer’s Full On PDA

Talk about public displays of affection (PDAs)! You would think that celebrities are wary of holding hands or getting cozy in public. Well, Ben Afleck and Jennifer Lopez do not belong to that category. Last week, while honeymooning in Milan, the two were seen in a pretty crowded street, shopping their hearts out, holding each other’s hands and even pecking. After the shopping, they had a good time at Lake Como as well. Hmmm… who says middle age slows you down?
