KARACHI, Dec 20: The owners of private schools have expressed reservations over the schedule of winter vacation announced by education department and demanded revision of the schedule.
A four-member delegation of All Private Schools Management Association, led by Syed Khalid Shah, on Tuesday called on Sindh Education Minister Hamida Khuhro.
The delegation told the minister that the leaves for Eidul Azha were not taken into account while announcing the schedule for winter vacation. It feared that it would result in the closure of schools for around 22 days. The delegation said that due to these leaves many private schools might not be able to collect fees from students, which would result in delay in payment of salaries and utilities bills.
It said that winter vacation should begin from Dec 26, 2005 to Jan 1, 2006 and schools be allowed to open from Jan 2 to 7, 2006.
The education minister asked the education secretary to listen to the problems of the association. In this regard, the delegation would call on the education secretary on Wednesday.—PPI
