Young Ansari edge out Babul Sports

LAHORE, Dec 19: The second phase of third KASB Premier Football League commenced on Monday at Azam Nagar Football Ground, Qasimabad, Liaquatabad, Karachi when Young Ansari Club edged out Lyari’s Babul Sports Club 2-1.

Young Ansari dominated the match right from word go and led 1-0 at interval. The winners took 20th minute lead through a well-timed header by Umar Nawab following a left wing cross.

Young Ansari also created problems for Babul Sports in the second session and made it 2-0 in the 68th minute when winger Hameed Afridi cut in from left flank and gave rival goalkeeper no chance.

Babul Sports got a face-saving goal one minute from time through Atiqur Rehman’s spot-kick. Babul Sports earlier lost to Mali National 0-3 at UP Gymkhana Stadia.

In the second match Gizri’s Sindh Muslim routed Sixteen Star of Federal B Area 4-1.

Sindh Muslim were 2-0 up at interval through Asif Junior’s goals who struck in the 16th and 28th minute.

Sixteen Star pulled one back through Naseem Ahmed six minutes into second half. But in the next minute skipper Sohail Brohi of Sindh Muslim restored two-goal advantage and eight minute later Khalid Mir completed the rout through penalty-kick.—APP
