Constable and wife murdered

KHANEWAL, Dec 19: A police constable and his wife were shot dead by unidentified people here on Sunday night. Jahanian police told newsmen on Monday that Constable Pervez Ahmad and his wife were shot dead at their home in the proximity of Jahanian railway station.

The police said Mrs Pervez had contracted a second marriage with the constable after getting divorce from her first husband through a family court. She had two children from her first marriage.

The police suspected that her former husband was involved in the double murder.—APP
