KARACHI, Dec 19: PIA crew saved the life of a seven-year-old girl when she fell seriously ill with convulsions while travelling on board flight PK-786 from London to Islamabad.

The girl, Hibba Tauheed, was accompanied by her mother and brother. The flight had taken off from London airport at 0100 hours (Pakistan time).

A doctor on board the flight examined the girl and told the cabin crew that her condition was serious and she needed immediate medical help.

The flight captain diverted the aircraft to the nearest destination of Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and while informing the air traffic controller sought permission for landing there.

The airport authorities, after completing the immigration formalities, allowed the girl’s admission to a nearby hospital.

The flight left after four-and-a-half hours for Islamabad leaving the girl behind with her family members.

The flight reached Islamabad at 1400 hours. — APP
