US economy

WASHINGTON, Dec 19: President George W. Bush said on Monday the US economy is the “envy of the world” but needs to be made stronger with the prop of permanent tax cuts. Thanks to the administration’s taxes and curbs on non-military spending, Bush told a news conference, “our economy is strong and it’s getting stronger”. “We’re heading into a new year with an economy that is the envy of the world. And we have every reason to be optimistic about our economic future,” the president said.—AFP
