LAHORE, Dec 17: National Bank were in sight of a big win over Service Industries on the second day of Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match at Sheikhupura Stadium on Saturday.

Despite fine bowling by medium-pacer Rizwan Akbar, who took six for 76, the bankers gained a 164-run lead on first innings despite making a modest 236 after resuming at 72-2 while replying to Service’s meagre total of 72.

By close of play, Service were struggling at 90-5 in the second innings and still need 74 runs to avoid innings defeat.

Medium-pacer Wasim Khan, who took six for 38 in the first innings, was again the main destroyer with four for 34.
