KABUL, Dec 16: A car bomb exploded in the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday near a building where a new parliament is due to meet for the first time next week, killing a suicide attacker and one other person, police said.

The blasts on a road between the Kabul zoo and the former King’s palace in the west of Kabul damaged a Nato peacekeeping vehicle, but initial reports said there had been no casualties among the soldiers.
