HARIPUR, Dec 16: Additional Sessions Judge Haripur Zamurud Hussain Qadri on Friday acquitted three accused in a murder case and ordered their immediate release if they were not required in any other case. Mohammad Tariq, Mohammad Riaz and Abdul Rehman were arrested by Kotnajibullah police on the charge of committing murder of one Basit Yunas of village Pind Kamal Khan on March 8, 2004. They had allegedly confessed before police of killing Basit after a local girl had become subject of dispute between them.

The judge, after hearing final arguments of prosecution and defence sides and examining the evidence brought forth by the police, extended benefit of doubt unto the accused and acquitted them of the charge.

Saeed Akhtar Khan and Waheed Azhar advocates appeared on behalf of the defendants.
