ABBOTTABAD, Dec 15: The Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates has planned to spend over 300 million dirhams (approximately Rs4.8 billion) on different projects in Balakot, including construction of schools and mosques and providing medical facilities.
UAE Relief Director Dr Saleeh Atai said during a visit to Balakot on Thursday that the Red Crescent had donated medicines worth over Rs100 million to the Ayub Medical Complex.
A Baitul Mal spokesman said a food program for more than 25,000 survivors of the October earthquake had been finalized. He said survivors in six affected districts would be provided food packages under the scheme.
The Marfi Foundation of Kuwait has announced to construct a hospital in Mansehra and initially provided Rs70 million for the purpose, said Police Foundation Inspector-General Mohammad Afzal Shigri while distributing relief goods in different hospitals.
