KARACHI, Dec 13: Five people, including a girl student and two minors, died in separate road accidents in various places here on Tuesday. A college girl died after being hit by a recklessly driven wagon at a bus stop near Murghikhana in Quaidabad. Amber Yusuf, 19, was waiting for a bus at the bus stop when a wagon (JE-1916) hit her and she died on the spot.

Later a crowd tried to set the wagon on fire and roughed up its driver. Police arrested its driver Raees Ahmed, and saved the wagon from being burnt, and impounded it.

In a head-on collision between a bus and a rickshaw near Orangi Town police station, the rickshaw driver Abdul Waheed, 50, lost his life and his brother Wali Mohammad received injuries.

The injured and the dead were shifted to hospital. Police have arrested Tawoos Khan, the bus driver, and impounded the vehicle. A boy died in a hit-and-run accident in Liaquatabad. Police said that Abrar Saleem, 12, was crossing the road when he was hit by a rickshaw.

Sohrab Magsi, 35, a policeman posted at the Mauripur police station, was hit by a dumper. The policeman was on his motorcycle when he was hit by the truck. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

A five-year-old boy Aqeel, died after being hit by a motorbike while his grandfather Din Mohammad, 60, and his uncle Mohammad Aamir, 30, residents of Akhtar Colony, received injuries on Sharea Faisal.robberies: Twenty-five incidents of robberies and theft were reported from different areas on Tuesday.

Bandits deprived seven people of their mobile phones at gunpoint and stole 14 others in various localities.

Some unidentified armed men intercepted Nooruddin in Nazimabad, snatched Rs500,000 and his Hi-roof and fled with the loot. Police registered an FIR 325/05 but failed to find any clue to the robbers.

A policeman Munawwar was intercepted by two armed men in Mubina Town, and deprived of his official rifle, cash and belongings. An FIR 255/05 was registered with the area police station.

Four unknown men in a car intercepted a woman and deprived her of cash and belongings near Ravi Centre on Tariq Road.

Police registered a case but failed to arrest the culprits.

In Korangi, five men raided a carton-factory and looted Rs80,000 and fled in a car.
