RAWALPINDISLAMABAD: Robbers, thieves and burglars deprived people of millions of rupees as well as valuables in 73 incidents in the garrison city on Thursday.
On the other hand, cash and valuables were looted from 18 places in the federal capital, while two persons were injured in separate robberies, police said on Friday.
In Rawalpindi, 18 motorcycles, three cars and 30 mobile phones were either stolen or snatched at gunpoint. Besides, 13 robberies and 24 thefts were reported to the police.
However, none of the culprits have been arrested and no stolen good and cash recovered so far.
In Islamabad, a gang of five culprits beat up a man during a robbery in F-11/1, police said.
The robbers then broke the doors of a room and looted $45,000, Rs600,000, Saudi Riyal 1,500, gold ornaments weighing 10 tolas and four mobile phones at gunpoint.
They also looted an unregistered Honda City 1,200CC before escaping from the house, police added.
Another gang of robbers injured a man in G-11/3, and took away his car.
Moreover, three robbers looted three mobile phones and two diamond rings at gunpoint from a family in G-13.
Furthermore, some burglars made off with gold ornaments and Rs335,000 cash from the house of Mohammad Javaid in H-13. Similarly, burglars broke into a house of Waqar Aslam in I-14/4 and escaped with Rs21,000 cash, gold ornaments and an LED.
Meanwhile, two cars were stolen from 17 Meel and Lake View Park, police said.
