MIRPURKHAS: The Election Commission of Pakistan has removed Mirpurkhas deputy commissioner Salamat Ali Memon as district returning officer over growing public complaints of favouritism for the ruling party.

Sources disclosed here on Wednesday that the ECP had taken action against the DC after receiving several complaints that the officer was supporting the ruling party candidates in local government election.

The ECP had appointed Waseem Ahmed Jaffri, director (admin) at provincial election commission office as the new district returning officer for Mirpurkhas. He would soon take over the charge to fulfill his new responsibilities, said the sources.
