SUKKUR: A police constable, Mohammad Ashraf Ujjan, was shot dead and his colleague, Gul Mohammad Ujjan, wounded in an attack by outlaws in the Tando Masti area of Khairpur district, according to a statement issued to the press.

The assailants fled the area after committing the crime, it said.

Sukkur DIG Tariq Abbas Qureshi ordered the district police to hunt down the killers as early as possible.

SSP Zaffar Iqbal Malik and a large number of police officials and local citizens attended the funeral prayers of the martyred constable.
