Nine-man Arsenal beat Liverpool

LONDON, Jan 27: Nine-man Arsenal fought their way to a thrilling 1-0 FA Cup fourth round victory over 10-man Liverpool at Highbury on Sunday, with Dennis Bergkamp scoring the winner before getting his marching orders.

Arsenal’s Martin Keown was sent off in the 67th minute for tugging Michael Owen’s shirt, while Bergkamp and Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher were dismissed four minutes later, the Dutchman for a bad tackle and the Liverpool midfielder for apparently tossing an object back into the crowd.

Bergkamp headed Arsenal’s winner in the 28th minute to give the hosts some measure of revenge after losing 2-1 to Liverpool in last season’s FA Cup final at Cardiff.
