KARACHI, Dec 9: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad on Friday directed the authorities concerned to process matters regarding allocation of land for establishing and extension of courts in different districts within two weeks.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting, attended among others by Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, held to review matters regarding provision of required facilities to judiciary at Governor’s House.

The meeting was told that a judicial complex, easily accessible by the masses, would be constructed in Karachi while land was to be allocated in Hyderabad, Dadu and Tando Jam to improve the conditions of courts.

The meeting was further told that 100-acre land had been allocated near Northern Bypass in order to fulfil the requirements of courts in future.

It was also decided that 100 acres land would be allocated for judicial academy in Education City in Karachi.

Ishratul Ibad said that the government was ensuring implementation of rule of the law in the province. He said fulfilling requirements of judiciary was the responsibility of the government to ensure respect of judiciary and access to justice to the people.

The governor and the chief justice stressed the need for keeping in view the future requirements while carrying out all projects.

Taking serious notice of the non-issuance of final notification for Education City, he directed the authorities concerned for immediate action in this regard.

The meeting also reviewed the extension in complex, adjacent to the court, keeping in view the future requirements.

Additional Advocate-General Kazi Khalid Ali presented the report before the meeting regarding requirement of different facilities to the judiciary.

The meeting decided to increase of 10 per cent judicial allowance for judicial officials and utility allowances for employees.—PPI
