KARACHI, Dec 9: The director-general of NAB, Sindh, Maj-Gen Mukhtar Ahmed, has called upon the youths to come forward and play a positive role in developing a corruption-free society by creating awareness among the masses about it.

He was speaking at a prize distribution ceremony organized for the participants and the winners of a national essay competition at NAB office on Friday.

“It is really delighting that the new generation is well aware of this social evil (corruption) and the youths are very much active in taking part in the awareness campaign launched by the NAB,” he noted.

Later, the director-general gave away awards and certificates to the winners.

In all, 40 boys and girls from colleges and universities took part in the contest. The contestants from Sindh clinched first position while Rawalpindi second and the NWFP got third position. Among schools, the NWFP got first position, Balochistan second, Punjab third and Sindh fourth position.

The first position holder was awarded with Rs50,000, second position holder Rs30,000; third position holder Rs20,000; and fourth position holder Rs10,000.

Nayra Rehman, Amina Nadeem and Samreen Razi were the first, second and third position holders respectively on college side from all over Pakistan and Sara Wudood, Haris Mehmood and Mariam Sabir were the first, second and third position holders respectively from school side.—PPI
