KARACHI: One hundred students were conferred MBBS degrees at the convocation of the Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College (LNHMC) on Saturday.

Dr Kiran, the winner of overall MBBS batch 2021 award, stood first in the examination followed by Dr Areesh. The third position was shared by Dr Anam, Dr Areeba and Dr Syeda Namiyah Fatima.

Welcoming the guests, Prof Karimullah Makki, LNHMC principal, briefed the audience about the college’s history and its progress over the years.

Dr Salman Faridi, medical director of LNHMC, advised young doctors to maintain integrity and accept new challenges in professional life.

“For a doctor, the learning process must never end. This approach and attitude towards life will help him serve humanity in the best possible way,” he noted. In his speech, Syed Shahid Ali, president board of governors, LNH, recalled the initial days of LNH, which goes back to 1948. “With a humble start of 50 beds, the hospital today has 750 beds with modern medical facilities and a team of best doctors and professionals,” he said.
