KANPUR (India), Jan 27: India captain Saurav Ganguly will be fit for Monday’s fourth One-day International against England after missing the previous game because of hamstring trouble.

“I am fit, I will play tomorrow,” said Ganguly Sunday after sitting out Friday’s third game in Chennai which the hosts won by four wickets to take a 2-1 lead in the six-game series.

The Indian middle-order could once again come under pressure after failing to click in the first three games and it is also without Vangipurappu Laxman.

The national selectors axed the wristy stroke-player to include young middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif, who is likely to make his one-day debut at his home ground, after Laxman managed scores of 25, three and 26 only in the first three games.

England coach Duncan Fletcher said the visitors would rely heavily on all-rounders Andrew Flintoff, Ben Hollioake and Jeremy Snape to lift the side after the reverse in Chennai.

But he was concerned they were unable to come good with both bat and ball in the same game. Flintoff has bowled well so far in the series but has failed to score runs.—Reuters
