DADU: The first additional sessions judge of Dadu on Wednesday ordered registration of two FIRs against Khudabad SHO, his two subordinates -- an assistant sub-inspector and a writer head-constable (WHC) -- along with the latter’s two brothers for wounding two youths in an alleged fake encounter.

The police officials had arrested two youths, Zahid and Ehsan, and shot and wounded them in a fake encounter, relatives of the youths claimed in two separate applications.

The court was informed that WHC Ali Bakhsh Loond and his two brothers, Wahid Bakhsh and Mohammad Iqbal, wanted to occupy a 10-acre piece of land in the area.

Ehsan’s mother Ms Zainab and Zahid’s brother Ghulam Mustafa filed separate applications in the court stating that Ehsan and Zahid were arrested for resisting the land-grab attempts. They were shot and wounded and later declared their criminal act an encounter, the applicants stated.

They nominated WHC Ali Bakhsh Loond and his two brothers, along with SHO Mohammad Jameel Chandio and ASI Manzoor Panhwar, as accused. The judge ordered that two separate FIRs be registered against the accused at the Khudabad police station.

Four illegally detained men freed

A civil judge carried out a raid on the Johi police station and found four persons unlawfully kept in the lock-up. The judge ordered their immediate release and asked the SHO, Noor Mohammad Pathan, to appear in the district and sessions court with the relevant record on Thursday.

The raid was assigned to the civil judge by the district and sessions judge on an application filed by a citizen, Mohammad Pathan, who stated that his son, Saddam Hussain, had been kept in illegal custody at the police station. During the raid three other persons, Ali Gul Pahore, Nazeer Panhwar and Ali Leghari, were also found detained without any entry or charges.
