QUETTA: Acting Governor of Balochistan Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali has convened a session of the Balochistan Assembly on Thursday to debate a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo by a group of 14 MPAs, headed by Jam Kamal Khan Alyani.

The motion was also signed by seven members of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP). Other signatories of the move belong to the PTI and ANP.

Reacting to the no-trust move, the chief minister has sacked BAP members from the provincial cabinet.

According to a notification issued here on Tuesday, the acting governor of Balochistan has summoned the assembly session on Thursday at 10am under Article 109 (a) of the Constitution. The notification said that visitors and government and private guards would be barred from entering the assembly premises for security reasons.

The session will seek permission to move the no-confidence motion against the chief minister and if allowed by 20 per cent lawmakers, it will be tabled in the house.
