LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Department (HED) on Tuesday postponed matriculation annual examination 2022 in the province.

According to a notification, “Owing to unavoidable circumstances in Lahore and Rawalpindi, paper of (Pakistan Studies-II), secondary school certificate annual examination 2022, scheduled to be held on May 25 (today) has been postponed. Next date will be announced by the respective boards in due course of time through electronic and print media.”

Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) spokesperson says the new date for the Pakistan Studies exam will be announced later. He also says the Grade IX exams will begin on May 26 as per the schedule.

Meanwhile, Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar also announced postponement of all examination to be held on May 25.

“Punjab University Department of Examinations has postponed all examinations to be held on May 25, 2022. New date will be announced later,” he tweeted.

UHE: University of Home Economics shall conduct the online classes on May 25 due to the prevailing situation.

However, a handout says the administrative staff and HODs/in-charges shall perform their regular duties on campus.

The teaching staff/faculty shall be called as per chairpersons/HoDs/in-charges directions, the handout says.
