LAHORE: A man allegedly stabbed to death his wife and mother-in-law over a family dispute in the Harbanspura area here on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Lubna (25) and her mother Maryam (50), of Lal Pul, and the suspect as Amjad Ali.

A police official said Lubna had been living with her parents for the last few weeks due to some family disputes.

On Monday, the suspect visited his in-laws where both sides exchanged words and Amjad stabbed his wife to death and injured her mother critically.

Amjad fled the scene, while the injured woman later died in a local hospital where she was taken by locals.

The police lodged a case and shifted the bodies to the city morgue for autopsy.
