KARACHI: Illegal blood banks warned

Published December 9, 2005

KARACHI, Dec 8: The Sindh Health Minister, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, on Thursday reiterated that all illegal blood banks operating in the province would be sealed and stern action be taken against quacks.

Talking to journalists on his return from interior Sindh, he said that the present system desperately needed reforms, without which no progress was possible. He asked citizens to visit only qualified doctors and avoid quacks so their health could be protected.

He warned of stern action against quacks, while adding that illegal blood banks would be sealed and their owners sued. He made it clear that no one would be allowed to play with the lives of citizens.—PPI
