QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo has said that he is ready to face the no-confidence motion against him, calling it part of politics and democracy.

A group of 14 MPAs led by former chief minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani and PTI’s Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind have submitted the no-confidence motion against Mr Bizenjo with the support of Awami National Party’s (ANP) parliamentary leader Asghar Achakzai.

Reacting to the development, Mr Bizenjo removed those ministers, advisers and parliamentary secretaries from his cabinet who had signed the no-confidence motion against him and asked the S&GAD to issue an official notification in this regard.

Two ministers, two advisers and two par­liamentary secretaries of the Baloch­is­tan Awami Party (BAP), ANP and PTI were among the signatories of the mot­ion. However, Nawabzada Tariq Hus­sain Magsi, who was minister for S&GAD, and Mir Niamatullah, an adviser to the chief minister, submitted their resignations on Thursday.

Talking to reporters after attending the Hazara community’s culture day, Chief Minister Bizenjo said those cabinet members who have reservations should have left the cabinet before they were expelled by the government.

He said he is ready to hold discussion with those who have moved the no-confidence motion. If they had issues, these could be resolved through dialogue, he said, adding that it is the responsibility of the government to solve people’s problems. “The government will fulfil its responsibilities and try to provide maximum facilities to the people.”

The chief minister said all important public issues would be given special attention in the next budget. He said the budget for the next financial year would be presented and the provincial government is trying to provide maximum relief to the people. He criticised those who have moved the no-confidence motion, saying they do not have any interest in solving people’s problems.

Mr Bizenjo said his government was formed just a few months ago and it is working hard to solve the problems of the people. “There are many difficulties, but the government is utilising all of its resources to provide maximum benefits to people.” He said the government’s coalition partners are making their best efforts to remove differences in the ruling party.
