Army deployed in more areas: JWP

Published December 8, 2005

QUETTA, Dec 7: The Jamhoori Watan Party has urged the government to stop taking extra-constitutional measures in the province and said military operations cannot suppress the struggle of the Baloch people against usurpation of their resources. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, JWP spokesman Senator Amanullah Kanrani alleged that after Dera Bugti and Kohlu, army and Frontier Corps had also been deployed in Nushki, Kalat, Kech, Turbat, Bolan and Dera Murad Jamali districts for military operations.

He said the deployment proved that the government was trying to suppress the political forces which were exposing the excesses against the Baloch and the exploitation of resources of the province.—Correspondent
