LAHORE: A man died of severe burns when a gas cylinder exploded after a fire broke out at a shop near Bank Stop on Ferozepur Road on Thursday.

The fire also damaged some furniture and other articles.

A spokesperson for the Rescue 1122 said the cylinder exploded so suddenly that the shop owner could not rush out of his business point and suffered multiple burns.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he died of serious injuries, he said adding the Rescue 1122 managed to control the fire.
