RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has started conducting flight crew examinations which helps aviators and the aviation industry to remain in tune with international standards.

A spokesman for the authority said it has resumed conducting flight crew examinations as the first set of exams was held on Monday organised by the British Council Karachi.

He said the exams were held as per instructions of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Earlier on Saturday, Minister for Aviation Saad Rafique visited Faisalabad Airport and chaired a meeting.

The minister was briefed by aviation officials including airport manager, Pakistan International Airport (PIA) and Airport Security Force (ASF) officials.

The minister reviewed important issues of the airport including reconstruction of the main runway and facilities being provided to passengers at the airport and directed officials to further improve them.

He also directed the PCAA and PIA to collaborate and start operating daily flights to Jeddah and Madina for the convenience of Umrah pilgrims. He also directed officials concerned to facilitate the business community by improving cargo delivery at Faisalabad airport.
