KOHAT: People are visiting shops in droves to buy Kaptan Chappal in main Kohat bazaar for Eid festival.

A shopkeeper Abid Khan told this correspondent that the prices of stylish double-soled chappal ranged between Rs2,500 and Rs4,000 and the enthusiastic young people were ready to pay the same.

The people belonging to lower class happily bought the same chappal of cheap quality for Rs1,500 to satisfy their desire in love for Imran Khan.

The black chappal of high chrome leather manufactured in Kohat and Charsadda was in great demand.

Mr Nazeer, a famous shopkeeper who makes handmade chappals for decades, said that mostly the product was from their own shop, but they also brought it from Charsadda keeping in view the local demand.

In recent years, many new chappal shops were established, but people came to them due to good quality of their footwear.

Mr Nazeer said that a few years ago only black chappal was popular, but with the passage of time brown, mustard, light and dark shades also became popular and now buyers had a variety to choose from it.

He told this correspondent that the chappals with thick tire sole were gaining popularity.

The two traders said the sale surged during Eid days while people continued to place orders for special occasions like weddings.
