CHINIOT: A man was arrested on Thursday for killing his own minor daughter in Lalian.

On Tuesday, five-year-old Noor Fatima, daughter of Shahid Ali Qureshi, went missing. According to her father, she went to a nearby shop of Ismael Qureshi and never returned. When the news was flashed in the media, City DSP of Chiniot Mazhar Gondal, Lalian DSP Uzair Ahmad and other officers arrived at the scene and started an investigation. Shahid got a kidnap case registered against three unidentified kidnappers at the Lalian police station. The police recovered the body of the girl near her house late on Wednesday.

The investigation committee, headed by the Lailan DSP, interrogated the complainant, who soon confessed to killing her own daughter only to implicate some people of the village who, he suspected, had an affair with his wife.

The district police officer announced cash and appreciation certificates for the investigation team for tracing the blind murder case in hours.
