Boy found murdered in Sohrab Goth home

KARACHI: A 12-year-old boy was found murdered in Sohrab Goth on Wednesday evening, according to police.

Area SHO Zubair Nawaz said that the body of Noman Imran was found hanging with a rope in his home in Lasi Goth. He said the victim’s mother had gone to the local market, while his father was at work when the incident occurred.

Quoting the victim’s family, the officer said that some boys in neighbourhood had a fight over some issue and the murder might be linked with it.

However, he added that the police were investigating the case. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to fulfil medico-legal formalities.

Policeman wounded by robbers

A police constable was shot at and wounded by armed robbers over resistance in the SITE-A area on Wednesday.

The police said armed robbers tried to loot Constable Mohammed Adil Butt, posted at the New Karachi Industrial Area police station, near Habib Bank Chowrangi. As he put up resistance, the robbers fired at him and fled. He suffered bullet wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.

Suspect injured in ‘encounter’

A suspected robber was shot at and wounded during an ‘encounter’ in the SITE-A on Wednesday.

The police said the encounter took place at Fakhruddin Valeeka Road. After an exchange of firing, Rahim Sher Dil was arrested in wounded condition while his accomplice, Moosa, managed to escape from the crime scene.

The police recovered one TT pistol with three rounds, three mobile phones and one motorbike from his custody. The injured was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
