GUJRANWALA, Dec 5: The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed its concern over the proposed increase in gas tariff. Speaking at a meeting held here on Monday with chamber president Akhlaq Ahmad Butt in the chair, the participants said China and India were providing its quality products at lower prices while input cost had increased manifold in Pakistan.

They feared that the industry would suffer with the increase in gas tariff from January 2006.

They suggested that manufacturers should be provided with incentives for the promotion of industry.

GCCI senior vice-president Ziaullah Irfani and vice-president Anwer Aslam were also present on the occasion.

FOUR POs HELD: The regional patrolling police claimed on Monday to have arrested four proclaimed offenders and seized two kalashnikov, 20 rifles, 36 pistols, a dozen stolen motorcycles, four cars and eight other vehicles during a month.
