LAHORE: Chestnut filly Anaya put up a smashing performance to lift the Summer Cup run over the sprinting distance of 800 metres during the Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

The 7/4 chance filly Anaya, ridden by Kashif Arshad collard the frontrunners in the home stretch and won the race easily from even-money favourite bay filly Amazing Thunder, sparing over three lengths.

The bay Honey The Choice and the bay gelding Gizbar completed the frame among seven runners.

In the supporting event, the Turbat Plate Class VII Division 1 & 11, contested over 1100 metres, outsider chestnut filly Wild Cost made a perfect move in the dying stages of the race to win over bay filly Fox Trot by a length with chestnut filly Muqadas third and the favourite filly Cousin Cary completed the frame among eight runners.

The turf accountants had an edge over the punters when only two favourite horses won in a card of five races.
