TAXILA: A local court in Attock on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment and imposed a fine on him for shooting to death his teenage daughter in the jurisdiction of Fatehjang police station a year ago.

Additional Session Judge Raja Mohammad Ajmal Khan sentenced Qadeem Khan to life imprisonment and imposed a fine amounting to Rs50,000.

According to the first investigation report (FIR), Khan shot dead his teenage daughter Kainat Bibi and secretly buried her body.

He was arrested by police and he confessed that he had murdered his daughter for “bringing shame to the whole family”. During proceedings, the prosecution contended that substantial evidence was available on record which established involvement of Mr Khan in the cold blooded murder of his daughter. Subsequently, the judge sentenced him to life imprisonment.
