TOBA TEK SINGH: Three people, two brothers among them, were killed in an exchange of fire between two groups at Faisalabad’s Chak No 2 JB on Sargodha Road on Tuesday.

Police said two groups had enmity over farmland ownership dispute which resulted in an armed clash. Nawazish Ali and Wajahat Ali, two brothers, and one of their opponents, Imran Sharif, were killed in firing.

Later, relatives of the deceased brothers demonstrated on Sargodha Road demanding immediate arrest of the killers.

The Nishatabad police have registered a case against the two groups and arrested some suspects.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A woman attempted suicide by jumping into canal with her three minor children in Faisalabad.

Reports said Inza Akmal, 39, a resident of Mohallah Sakhi Sarwarabad, quarreled with her in-laws and jumped into Rakh branch canal near Chak 204 RB with her daughters Naqasha, 7, Sanya, 4, and Guddi, 3. Rescuers saved the four members of a family.

ACCIDENTS: A textile sizing factory worker died and his colleague was injured at Sehr time on Jhang Road when their motorcycle slipped owing to electricity wires on road on Tuesday.

Rescue 1122 said Asif, 35, and his colleague were going home at Chanchalwala village when they slipped. Asif died on the spot while the pillion was shifted to the Allied Hospital.

Four workers of Masood Textile Mills were injured when a van hit them on Sheikhupura Road in Faisalabad. Tabarak, 23, Asghar, 38, Akram, 47, and Ebad 45 were shifted to the Shahkot THQ hospital.

Six passengers were injured when a bus overturned near Roshanwala Bypass on Jhang Road. Police said the accident took place due to speeding.

The injured Ali Raza, 31, Shah Muhammad, 40, Shahid, 28, Haleema Bibi, 55, Salaha Bibi, 50, and Shahid Sabir, 30, were admitted to the DHQ hospital.
