KARACHI, Dec 4: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Sunday condemning non-transfer of benefit of the falling oil prices in the international market has strongly demanded that a matching slash in oil prices be made to fulfil the demands of justice.

MMA MNAs Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, Abdul Sattar Afghani and Muhammad Laeeq in a joint statement said that oil prices had slumped from $70 to $52 per barrel in the international markets, but the oil companies, patronized by the rulers, were not interested in passing this benefit to the people.

Terming it an inhuman act, they reminded that the prices of petrol had jumped from Rs29 to Rs59 per litre in the era of the present rulers. He said that inflated oil prices had made the lives of the poor masses a living hell.

They charged that the rulers had set up a brutal system of exploiting the poor masses, and benefits of betterment in the economy were being diverted to the privileged ruling class only.

The MMA leaders said that rulers and their partners, who had only used hollow pro-people slogans, had become the real tormentors of people after occupying power.

They demanded an immediate slash in the oil prices and transfer due benefit of falling prices in the international market to the masses.—PPI
