KARACHI, Dec 4: A rescue team of the City Fire and Rescue Service which had taken part in the rescue efforts of the Oct 8 earthquake met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at the Chief Minister House here on Sunday.

The prime minister appreciated the efforts of the 10-member rescue team led by city chief fire officer and announced a month salary for them as reward.

He inquired about the strength and technical facilities of the city fire service.

The prime minister was also informed that the city fire service at present was working without a snorkel. The premier took a keen interest in affairs of the city’s fire service.

Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad Khan, Chief Minister Dr Arbab Rahim, DCO Fazlur Rehman and others were also present.
