LARKANA: An 80-year-old convict, Mohammed Murad Brohi, died of cardiac arrest in the Larkana Central Prison on Friday, jail officials said. Brohi was arrested by the excise police about 12 years ago in a narcotics trafficking case and eventually sentenced to life imprisonment on June 28, 2011. A fine of Rs100,000 was also imposed on him.

On Oct 19, 2017, he was shifted to the Larkana jail from the Sukkur Central Prison.

The Larkana jail authorities on Friday claimed that he suffered a severe cardiac stroke and died. After legal formalities, performed in the presence of a judicial magistrate, the body was handed over to the heirs.
