MOHMAND: Teachers of basic education community schools in Mohmand tribal district have not been paid their salaries for the last nine months, causing financial hardships to their families.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, a group of teachers, including Jamil Khan Aajez, Ali Rehman, Sher Mohammad, Ali Raza and others, demanded of the chief minister to order the relevant authorities to release their withheld salaries without delay.

They said the basic education community teachers were performing their duties in remote areas, but had been without salaries for long.

They accused the director elementary education of using different tactics to delay release of salaries to a total of 700 teachers appointed in the merged districts.
