LAKKI MARWAT: Six policemen and two undertrials were among 12 persons injured when a passenger coach and a police van collided here on Friday.

Rescue and police officials said that the accident occurred near Serai Gambila.

They said that the police were taking two undertrials -- Mohammad Ali and Najibullah -- to the judicial complex, Tajazai, from central jail Bannu, when the van collided with a passenger coach coming from the opposite side.

A rescue official said that the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, Tajazai.

A police official said that the injured cops included Waheed Khan, Ziaullah, Javed, Bilal, Izhar and Munir.

A rescue official identified the other wounded persons as Habibullah, Atlas Khan, Mudassir Umar and Javed Khan.
