Cases against SI, ASI

SAHIWAL, Dec 2: The local Anti-Corruption Establishment registered separate cases against an SI and an ASI on the charge of taking bribe here on Friday. Reports said that SI Mushtaq Ahmed of Noorshah police station had taken Rs10,000 in bribe from Fateh Shah of Chak 68/4-R to process the challan of kidnappers of his granddaughter. Later, the accused policeman also received gratification from kidnappers and did not present their challans. On the complaint of Fateh Shah, an inquiry was conducted which established the charges.

Meanwhile, ASI Muhammad Sadiq of Harappa police station took Rs2,000 in bribe from grower Mushtaq Ahmed for the arrest of thieves, but he did not arrest them. Mushtaq reported the matter to the ACE which registered a case against the ASI.

COUPLE KILLED: A couple was killed after their motorcycle fell into a roadside ditch near Thatha Araaiyan village on Thursday evening.

Muhammad Saleem of Bhojian village and his wife Rabia, married on Nov 25, were going by motorcycle (SIN-931) when they met with an accident.

LOOTED: Four armed bandits looted two houses on Jhaal Road here on Thursday night.

The bandits first entered the house of Muhammad Rafiq, held the inmates hostage and collected Rs20,000 in cash and cell phones. Later, outlaws entered the house of his neighbour Muhammad Saeed and took all the family members at pistol point. They scooped Rs5,000 in cash and ornaments valuing Rs200,000 and fled while firing in the air.

Fateh Sher police have registered a case against the outlaws.
