Contractors warned

Published December 3, 2005

SWABI, Dec 2: District Nazim Shahram Khan on Friday warned contractors to avoid using substandard construction material in buildings. He said the construction material — sand, cement, bricks and iron – should be used keeping in view designs of buildings. Action would be taken against contractors violating the rules, he added. He said all the layout plans, building maps and clearance certificates would be scrutinized to ensure standard construction in the future.

He said that a proper mechanism and system of checks would be adopted to ensure quality construction. The structures would be checked while being raised and changes would be made in the design then and there, if necessary.
