HYDERABAD, Dec 2: Ten new buses were handed over to the University of Sindh at a ceremony held at the Allama I. I. Kazi campus in Jamshoro on Thursday.
Managing Director and chief executive officer of the Hino Pak Mr Keiji Maeda presented the symbolic key to the university vice-chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui.
The ceremony was attended by members of the university syndicate, deans of faculties, heads of institutes and departments, employees of various sections and a large number of students.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Maeda said that the Hino Pak was a multinational company and a part of the Toyota Motors group. He said the company would provide free service and training to university drivers.
The CEO said the Hino Pak was providing a bus for Rs1.65 million to the university instead of its actual price of Rs1.9 million. He announced that the company would provide internship to 10 students of the university.
The vice chancellor said the matter of purchasing new busses was in pending since 2001.
He appreciated cooperation of the Hino Pak for giving concession of one million rupees on the purchase of 10 new busses.
He said that the HEC had approved 200 buses for the university under its mega project of 15 years.
MERIT LIST: The director of admissions at the University of Sindh here on Thursday announced the third merit list of candidates selected for admissions in the masters programme on quota and in general discipline.
He also announced the merit list of the candidates selected under the self finance scheme.
The lists were issued on the university website (www.usindh.edu.pk) and displayed at notice boards of the Sindh University model school and directorate of admissions in Jamshoro.
Last date for submitting an objection is December 3.
Final list will be announced on December 5.
The selected candidates will be required to deposit the admission fee from December 6 to December 12.
