Asif, Jawad sparkle

LAHORE, Dec 1: Four goals by Asif Tiwana and two by Jawad Malik helped Shahpur Sabre enter the final of the Omroc Cup polo tournament beating Master Paints 6 1/2-6 at LPC on Thursday. Shahpur made a stormy start earning 3 1/2-1 lead in the first chukker.

Sufi Muhammad Haris, who scored three goals for the losers struck first. But Shahpur added three goals in a row, one through Asif and two goals by Jawad.

Both the teams scored one goal each in the second chukker. Afzal Mahr struck for Master while Asif scored his second.

Masters tried to stage a comeback scoring three goals in the third chukker. Sufi Haris (2) and Zubair Shaheen (1) were the scorers. Asif scored his third.

In the fourth chukker, Shahpur upheld the lead as Asif struck his fourth goal while Master scored their sixth goal through Zubair.

In two chukker matches, Jeuni won both the ties. They defeated Data Hybrid Corn 3- 2 1/2 and Sea Gold 2- 1 1/2.

In the third match, Sea Gold drew with Data Hybrid Corn 2-2.
