KARACHI: A model court has sentenced two men to life imprisonment in a murder case. Daroon Khan and Bhai Khan were found guilty of stabbing to death Muhammad Khan in Korangi in October 2020.

On Friday, the Model Criminal Trial Court (East) pronounced its verdict reserved after recording evidence and final arguments from both sides.

The judge noted that the prosecution successfully proved the charge against the accused.

The judge sentenced them to life in prison, imposed a fine of Rs10,000 each on the convicts and ordered them to pay Rs500,000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the victim.

According to the prosecution, two groups had clashed with each other over a a quarrel among their children. Both the accused had attacked Muhammad Khan with a knife, causing severe injuries to him. The injured was rushed to the hospital, where he died during treatment.

A case was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the PPC at the Korangi police station.
