Polo: Handicap proves winner

LAHORE, Nov 30: A half-goal handicap helped Mixed Bag beat Free Lancers 4 1/2-4 in the Omroc Cup polo tournament on Wednesday. The winners led the first chukker 2 1/2-0 as Ali Ahsan Siddiqui and Irfan Ali Hyder scored a goal each.

Ahmed Zubair increased the lead to 4 1/2-0 in the early period of the second chukker by scoring back-to-back goals.

The losers started a recovery operation scoring four goals in a row.

Azhar Ali, who scored two struck first in the dying minutes of the second chukker to make the score 4 1/2-1.

In the third chukker Azhar and Aurangzeb Monoo scored a goal each and in the fourth chukker Ali Hashim Rizvi scored the fourth goal to complete the tally.

In double chukker matches, Millat Tractors defeated Colony Textile 4 1/2-2 but lost to Sherwood 5-4.

Sherwood also lost the second match to Colony Textile 6- 1 1/2.
