SARGODHA, Nov 30: Khushab DPO Javed Islam was directed to appear before Punjab Assembly’s privilege committee on Thursday (today) to explain as to why he had threatened MPA Muhammad Waris Kaloo with dire consequences.

The MPA had reportedly approached the DPO to take action against the Noorpur Thal SHO due to whom alleged negligence the six people were killed some one month back in Roda, Khushab district.

Mr Kaloo alleged in his privilege motion that the Khushab DPO had favoured some influential people while the SHO after taking a heavy bribe provided help to the qabza group to dispossess tenants from the land.

Talking to Dawn, he said the SHO had booked at least three dozen people of the family whose four members were killed by the police and accused, leaving not a single person to bury those murdered and look after the injured.
