KARACHI, Nov 30: Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, administrative judge (AJ) of the Anti-Terrrorism Courts for Karachi, on Wednesday extended physical remand of the two suspects in the PIDC car bomb blast case till Dec 6.
Earlier, Mengal Khan Baloch and Aziz Khan Baloch were produced before the AJ by a heavy posse of CID police seeking remand for 14 days more.
The AJ inquired from the investigating officer about any progress made during the 14-day physical remand of the suspects.
Inspector Muhammad Tariq, IO, informed the AJ that investigation was under way and suspected co-conspirators, arms and ammunition were yet to be recovered.
He also maintained that the suspects belonged to an anti-state organization and were suppressing facts.
The AJ, terming the reply as not satisfactory, said that considering the nature of case and possible conspiracy, investigations might take some more time. He granted remand of the accused for another six days.
One of the suspects, Abdul Jabbar Khan Baloch, alleged to be riding in the same car in which police arrested the two accused, has been let off under section 169 CrPC.
They are accused of carrying out a car bomb blast in front of the PIDC building, killing three persons. — APP
