Brazil has reported 59,253 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours and 672 deaths due to Covid-19, according to data from the Health Ministry.
Reuters reports the South American country has now registered 29,033,052 confirmed cases since the pandemic began, while the official death toll has risen to 651,927, the second-highest in the world.
