MIRPURKHAS, Nov 29: Pro-vincial Police Officer Asad Jehangir has said he is striving to recover eight members of the family of Manu Bheel on the directives of the Supreme Court.

He was answering questions of journalists at the DIG office here on Tuesday.

He arrived here from Karachi in connection with an inquiry into the kidnapping of family members of Mr Bheel.

He held a meeting with Mirpurkhas DIG Saleemullah Khan and DPO Sanghar Ajmal Magsi.

When asked whether the detainees were alive, he said he could not say anything about it. He said an FIR of the matter had been registered and Mr Bheel would be provided with justice.

Answering another question, he said he could not tell when exactly the detainees would be recovered. However, he added, efforts for their recovery were being made.

Mr Bheel, who was sitting in a police mobile, said the PPO had assured him of early recovery of his family members.
